I was born and raised in Patchogue, Long Island, New York. Long Island is primarily suburban, although the borough of Queens lies on the western tip of the Island. Long Island boasts beautiful white sand beaches as well as the Pine Barrens, an essential tract of land in Central Long Island serving as a filter for the Island's water supply. National, state, and county parks and seashores abound on Long Island, providing limitless opportunities to enjoy the natural beauty of Long Island and its barrier islands.

The Fire Island Lighthouse lies on Fire Island, off the southern shore of Long Island in Robert Moses State Park.

Smith Point also offers clean, spacious beaches and a chance to have a swim in the Atlantic Ocean.

A Long Island Seagull comes in for the kill on one of the Island's beaches.

The Big Apple is never far away: Manhattan from a helicopter.

The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center: New York's tallest buildings.
